Year 6 Trip to the Life Skills Centre
During this term the whole of year six were lucky enough to visit the Lifeskills centre in Bristol. At the centre the staff taught the children how to deal with real life scenarios which could involve an element of danger. For example what to do if someone should need an ambulance or how to call for the fire brigade. There were also situations in the home, garden, alongside a railway line, in a play park, near to a river, at a builder yard, in a shop and crossing a road to name but a few more.
The children really enjoyed this experience and learnt a great deal about how to keep themselves and others around them safe. We hope that they will never have to put these skills into practice however we feel it is invaluable for them to have learnt them.
