Year 5 trip to Sevington
On the 21st May, KM5 and B5 visited the Victorian School in Sevington as part of our Year 5 study of the Victorians. We dressed up as Victorian children and experienced a day in the life of a Victorian child. We took part a typical 1898 village school day, which included the daily school activities, including handwriting, arithmetic. The girls then took part in sewing activities and the boys candle making. We took our own Victorian lunch and enjoyed recreation, playing cricket, hobbyhorse and hula-hoops. It was a fantastic day and our teacher Miss Squires proved to be a very strict Victorian ma’am. The children were glad to come back to Longwell Green School!
