Year 4 Visit to Steam World in Swindon
The children dressed up as evacuees and travelled to Swindon to experience a day as an evacuee. The many quality activities included the handling of real artefacts, sitting in a recreation of a public air raid shelter and being chosen after arriving at the place where they would live as evacuees.
This opportunity for the children to develop their understanding of life on the home front was invaluable and proved to be a memorable event for all of them.
Many thanks to all the families and friends who helped to make this day out even more realistic by providing the children with authentic looking outfits.
