Year 5 Trip to Willsbridge Mill and Wassail Chant
Early in January Year 5 were invited to Willsbridge Mill to take part in a day of preparations for a Wassailing Ceremony to be held at the Mill the following Sunday. Guided by a local artist, the children made percussion instruments out of garden and kitchen implements, glass painted lanterns and printed banners on fabric. We used drills, hammers and saws to make our creations. Guided by a local musician, we learned some wassail chants to be sung around the trees.
The school Morris Dancers looked great in their outfits and the queen and her attendants performed their roles very well. Thank you to Mrs. Good for these photos of the event.
