The school has a team of eight Learning Support Assistants with experience ranging from two years to twenty years, who all work with pupils from the reception classes up to the year six classes. They are all fully qualified and regularly attend appropriate courses relevant to their role in school.
The whole team are committed and dedicated to helping all pupils achieve their full potential in all areas of the curriculum.
Their knowledge and expertise is used for literacy and maths support groups with children of different abilities, both in small groups or on a one to one basis. These support programmes are aimed at specific levels of ability and are age-related. They also work in tandem with the class teachers supporting class activities.
Our team are also used in other ways such as displays, art, sports and they play a major part in assisting with costumes and scenery for school productions. Learning Support Assistants are always present on out of school visits and play an active role during residential visits when their parenting skills are sometimes used!
They gain a good knowledge of all the pupils, building positive and long lasting relationships and sometimes get involved in pastoral care as necessary.
These strong and positive relationships continue to develop and grow as the children progress through the school.
