Year 5 Narrowly Miss Out

Our Year 5 Tag Rugby team enjoyed a fantastic day at the Festival of Youth Sport winning their way to the final only to lose by the narrowest of margins.

On Saturday 26th April ten year 5 pupils represented our school at the annual Festival of Youth Sport held at the WISE Academy in Filton.  Sixteen schools took part in the rugby tournament. They were unbeaten in the group stage winning against Redfield Edge, Our Lady of Lourdes and Charborough Road. Through to the quarter finals they beat Baileys Court 5-2.  In the semi final they played Holy Trinity winning 6-5.  In the final they came up against Charborough Road again.  This time despite a sterling effort they lost 7-6.

The children, Mitchell, Tom, Michael, Chris, Jordan, Rhys, James, Kara, Emily and Ellen can be very proud of the way they represented the school. They played every game with a great deal of skill, determination and teamwork.
