Academic year 2011/12

Term 1:
Thursday, 1st September – Friday, 21st October, 2011
(Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd September will be inservice training days.  School will open for pupils on Monday, 5th September)
Term 4: Monday, 20th February – Friday, 30th March, 2012
Term 4: Monday, 31st October – Friday, 16th December, 2011
(Monday, 31st October will be an inservice training day.  School wil open for pupils on Tuesday, 1st November)
Term 5: Monday, 16th April – Friday, 1st June 2012
Term 3: Tuesday, 3rd January – Friday, 10th February, 2012
(Tuesday, 3rd January, will be an inservice training day.  School will open for pupils on Wednesday, 4th January)
Term 6: Monday, 11th June – Thursday, 19th July 2012
(Monday, 11th June will be an inservice training day.  School will open for pupils on Tuesday, 12th June)

Schools must meet for at least 380 sessions in each academic year (i.e. 190 days). Teaching staff are required to work a further five days each year for the purpose of professional training. All schools will have 5 days of training/planning spread throughout the year. Schools will be closed to pupils on these days. Training/planning days are organised individually by each school.
