Welcome from the Headteacher

On behalf of the staff, governors and everyone here at Longwell Green Primary School, I offer you and your family a warm welcome to our school. I am proud to be the Head Teacher of such an exciting, caring and family school.

Our vision of “Inspiring learning” underpins all we do.  Growing and learning is a journey and everything we do at Longwell Green is to support each and every individual to enjoy life, enjoy learning, to be proud of themselves, of our school, our community and the world we live in.  Everyone at Longwell Green is valued and we work hard to make sure that each child knows this and wants to show that care and understanding to everyone around them.

We have a fantastic team of Governors, compassionate and professional staff, an engaged and hardworking Friends group as well as a highly supportive group of parents and carers working together to ensure we deliver the best possible education. Indeed, we are all working together for the same end – the very best education for your child, and when you visit school you will be delighted to see and feel such an engagement from all stakeholders through this child centred family approach to education.

Each individual is at the heart of what we do and we recognise the privilege and responsibility we have to the 420 pupils in our care.  We want each child to enjoy their time at Longwell Green, but most importantly we want every individual to show respect and be respected, embrace challenge to achieve their best and to care.  We instil each with the skills to become lifelong learners and strive to want to be the very best they can be.

We recognise that each child is unique and each are part of the family of Longwell Green and we want children to be proud to be them and with our combined help and support to strive to be the best versions of themselves.

At Longwell Green we provide a broad, well-structured and challenging curriculum. All children are encouraged to meet high expectations academically, socially and morally.

To achieve all of this and more we aim to create an environment that is engaging, stimulating, safe, compassionate and somewhere that your child wants to be.

We do indeed have high expectations of all our pupils, we enable them to develop self-confidence and independence, while recognising that each and everyone has a part to play as a responsible member of our learning community and the world we all create. We put great emphasis on the development of social and emotional skills from which academic, creative and physical development can be built upon.

We are all proud to be part of the Longwell Green family and we all strive to achieve the very best in all we do.  If you are joining us, we look forward to having you as part of our exciting and caring school.
