Top Tier Ofsted Success
We are incredibly proud to share the feedback from Ofsted, which places Longwell Green Primary School among the very best under the current inspection framework.
The report opens, saying “Longwell Green Primary is a wonderful school.”
Ofsted highlighted our school’s “clear and unfaltering ambition to take every possible action so that pupils achieve well,” alongside “high expectations” and a learning environment where “everyone has a chance to shine.”
Our pupils were described as “kind, polite and courteous” and “extremely proud to belong to Longwell Green Primary.” The report celebrates the strong relationships between staff and children, calling they relationships “positive and nurturing,” and praises our “well-constructed, ambitious curriculum” that helps children to “talk meaningfully and with deep understanding about what they have learned.”
Reading is another standout strength. Ofsted praised our “well-organised and thoroughly assessed” phonics teaching and the rich culture of reading where pupils of all ages “enjoy reading stories and information books alongside their teachers.”
Support for all pupils was recognised, with Ofsted saying staff know and respond to individual needs so that “every pupil has the support needed to achieve well.”
Our school environment and playtimes were also praised, with pupils enjoying enriching experiences that develop character and values. Staff wellbeing was noted as a priority, with the report stating that staff “are incredibly proud to work here.”
