Science

At Longwell Green Primary, children are able to deepen their understanding of the world around them by engaging in interesting and exciting knowledge-based lessons.  Children at Longwell Green are encouraged to be inquisitive, creative and open-minded when learning all areas of the science curriculum. 

Children are also given opportunities to develop their working scientifically skills through exciting and interesting enquiry-based lessons where they:

• Ask questions
• Make predictions
• Set up tests,
• Make observations and measurement 
• Record data 
• Interpret and communicate their results 
• Evaluate their enquiries

Finally, through fantastic resources such as, “A scientist just like me,” from the Primary Science Teachers Trust, children are introduced to a diverse range of scientist to help them recognise that anyone can be a scientist!
